Founding AI engineer seat. Portless is building AI infrastructure to enable end-to-end agentic workflows across teams. Current AI adoption is basic (decks, spreadsheets, call summaries, dashboards). You will ship high-impact agentic workflows and build reusable "Lego blocks" (APIs, MCP tools, docs) so any team can build their own workflows. This is a cross-functional, high-leverage role working directly with leadership. Example project: an inbound invoice questions agent that understands the question, pulls the right invoice, drafts a context-aware reply for a teammate to click-send, turning roughly an hour of work into ~30 seconds. Stack: Python, TypeScript, LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI), MCP, RAG, vector databases, agent orchestration, Cursor/Claude Code. Requirements: Based in North America. 3+ years software engineering with 1-2+ years building production AI systems, 10+ real agent/LLM workflows shipped end-to-end, platform mindset (built tools/infra for others, not just yourself), strong Python and/or TypeScript across backend and lightweight frontend, relevant sector background (e-commerce, 3PL, logistics, or comparable B2B).
