CivTiq is building enterprise-grade, white-label reporting infrastructure for municipal governments across North America. This Lead SWE role involves owning and driving technical decisions, maintaining a multi-tenant cloud architecture with data residency requirements, and building out compliance frameworks (SOC 2, PIPEDA, MFIPPA, and related security standards). You’ll contribute to technical hiring as the team grows, expect 5+ years in cloud infrastructure or backend engineering with direct exposure to multi-tenant architectures, data residency, and uptime SLA commitments, and have shipped production systems with regulatory consequences. You should be hands-on with SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, PIPEDA, or equivalent regulated environments, and be able to review and challenge AI-generated code and architectural decisions. You will represent the technical platform to government IT evaluators, be comfortable inheriting an existing TypeScript/Node.js/PostgreSQL codebase, and be located in Toronto or willing to relocate.
