River is hiring Staff Software Engineer (Elixir). This full-time role can be remote or in our SF/NYC regions. Salary: $200,000-$250,000. You will work on an Elixir monolith with a unified GraphQL API for real-time Bitcoin and USD payments, trading, and settlement, contribute to next-generation Bitcoin custody with quorum signing and geo-redundant infrastructure, and help scale our ML/AI systems to automate operations and tackle fraud/risk. The team is porting Lightning Network infrastructure from Go into Elixir and rebuilding our consumer app with React/React Native. Preferred stack: Elixir, GraphQL; experience with distributed systems and payments.
