About Subimage
Subimage maps infrastructure the way an attacker does so security teams at scale-ups and enterprises can find and fix problems. Seed-stage team with significant demand.
Job Description
Subimage seeks a Founding Engineer to help build a near-real-time, self-updating map of an environment for detecting and responding to attacks. Responsibilities include vulnerability triage with real context (asset exposure, reachable services, compensating controls, data exposure across hops), proving security fixes won’t break things, building an agent that can answer questions about a large graph efficiently with contextual relevance, and determining resource ownership from messy signals. Stack includes Cartography for ingestion, Neo4j for the graph, Python/FastAPI backend, Svelte frontend with a custom WebGL graph renderer, an MCP server exposing everything to agents, and Terraform for IaC. We’re a tiny seed-stage team with strong demand; 3+ years at high-growth companies, distributed systems and cloud experience, ownership, and first-principles thinking are required. Kubernetes and security knowledge are a plus. Onsite in the Bay Area (San Francisco), five days a week. Process: technical screen, call with founders, paid day with the team, then offer.Location
