Job Description

Founding Engineer to own data integrations and cloud infrastructure connecting to utilities, grid operators, OEM hardware, weather providers, and our optimization engine. Build reliable data pipelines that run during market events with real money on the line. Responsibilities include wholesale market integrations (NYISO, CAISO, ERCOT) for pricing, capacity markets, and dispatch signals; OEM hardware integrations for monitoring, control, and telemetry; utility data pipelines (Green Button Connect/ESPI, interval usage, billing, and meter data from utilities like ConEd, PG&E, and SCE); weather forecast pipelines feeding the scheduling engine; event-driven AWS infrastructure using Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync/GraphQL, EventBridge, IoT Core, Timestream, Amplify, and CloudWatch; Terraform IaC, observability, and reliability work to minimize downtime with real financial consequences. Strong fit if you have deep AWS experience, production Terraform usage, and Python. Energy experience is a plus but not required. Experience with utilities, government APIs, OEMs, hardware, telemetry, or other “real world is messy” systems is highly relevant.
