Job Description

Role: Senior Embedded Software/Hardware Engineer for Brightcore EDGE, an on-prem industrial PC that runs our control and optimization algorithms directly at customer sites, including data centers. Responsibilities include selecting and hardening the industrial PC and Linux platform, building imaging, provisioning, and fleet-update processes, integrating with building management systems over BACnet and Modbus (Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens), building the local time-series data logging and telemetry pipeline, and implementing OS hardening, disk encryption, and network segmentation to satisfy OT security reviews at high-security sites. Reports directly to the VP of Innovation. This is a high-ownership, spec-it-and-build-it role; you’ll be buying hardware and shipping working prototypes with minimal process overhead. Requirements: 5-8+ years in embedded systems, industrial controls, or edge/IoT; strong Linux, Python and/or C/C++; some BACnet/Modbus background.
