Job Description

Lead Product Engineer / Engineering Manager role for AREO's B2B SaaS platform serving supermarkets and grocery retailers. You will own backend engineering, guide architectural decisions, and grow the engineering team as AREO scales. Responsibilities include defining the technical roadmap, delivering features on the Ruby on Rails 8.x stack (Rails 8.x), StimulusJS, Hotwire/Turbo, AlpineJS, Postgres, Docker, DigitalOcean, OpenAPI, and exploring LLM integration. Mentor engineers, collaborate with product and sales, ensure code quality and on‑time delivery, and help recruit. Requirements include a minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience, startup experience preferred, strong leadership and communication, and German language skills highly preferred.
