Job Description
Principal Engineer, backend-heavy role (85-90% backend), owning architecture across multiple teams and helping set technical direction as we scale. Responsibilities include delivering systems spanning multiple teams, driving adoption of AI coding tools (Claude Code) with real usage across the team, mentoring senior engineers, and influencing technical decisions without needing to go the management track. Work closely with product and business leadership on technical strategy. Stack: TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, AWS; React/Next on the frontend. Requirements: 15+ years of experience, real hands-on TypeScript backend depth (Node.js, NestJS, or similar); ideally some exposure to healthcare, fintech, or another regulated-data environment, though that’s a plus, not a hard requirement. Hybrid, 4 days/week in our SoHo office.Remote
