Job Description

We're hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team in either Oakland, CA or Washington, DC. This is a hybrid role with 3 in-office days per week. You will build and scale distributed systems that power payments and communication for millions of users, work closely with our product and infra teams to design and deploy production-grade services, own backend projects from architecture through execution, and help modernize systems used by cities, counties, and states across the country. You might be a fit if you have 4+ years of backend engineering experience, have worked on complex systems at scale, are excited by mission-driven work and product ownership, and are based in the US and authorized to work here.
