Job Description
Splash Tech is a small UK-based, free-to-play gaming company with a distributed team and a backend platform currently scaling. We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of experience. This role is AWS-focused and requires hands-on expertise with AWS (EKS, EC2, Application Load Balancers, RDS, IAM), Terraform (infrastructure as code), Kubernetes (troubleshooting workloads and clusters), CI/CD and GitOps using GitHub Actions and Flux, and monitoring/observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Alertmanager, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry). DNS, TLS, and Cloudflare experience are desirable, and strong AWS networking knowledge (VPC design, routing, private connectivity) is highly valued. Our stack includes AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), PostgreSQL, Trino, Flux, Terraform, and GitHub Actions. You don’t need to know every tool upfront, but you should be comfortable learning what the job requires. You should own problems from identification through implementation, rollout, documentation, and ongoing operation, and be able to investigate issues across applications, Kubernetes, networking, and databases. Clear thinking and communication are important; the ability to explain ideas and trade-offs using simple architecture diagrams is preferred. How to apply: email lucas@splash.tech with the subject “DevOps Engineer 2026” and include a brief introduction plus a link to a repository or project that demonstrates your infrastructure or automation work. If you don’t have work to share, a small practical test may be requested.Remote
