Job Description

Fractional Founding Engineer to guide technical direction with founders. Own architecture, infrastructure, data/recommendation systems, security, and scalability. Responsibilities include: assess and improve React/Node.js/PostgreSQL/AWS codebase and infra; set engineering architecture, standards, and priorities; design data and recommendation/scoring layer for founder/investor/partner matching; build out DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, and deployment; make build-vs-buy decisions and coordinate external engineers/vendors; serve as primary technical team member with influence over technology foundation and future engineering org. Ideal candidate has experience owning architecture end-to-end, preferably with matching, recommendation, ranking, or scoring systems; able to explain tradeoffs to non-technical founders and investors. This is a fractional role (10-15 hrs/week) with equity + discretionary cash; remote US-based. Email application at team@duetsnetwork.com with 'Founding Engineer' in the subject line.
